Happy December everyone … no idea where this busy year has gone to as we are all opening the first doors on the advent calendar, propping up the Elf on the mischievous shelf, wobbling on chairs as the Christmas lights are being untangled & dare we say it … we are on the homeward stretch of 12 working days before the Big Man arrives!
HUGE thanks again to all of our valued clients & suppliers for everyone’s support throughout an inspiring 2023! I’d personally like to say a massive thank you to each & everyone of the of the High 5 Events team for all their hard work, resilience, sense of humour throughout all of 2023 & can’t wait to enjoy our celebrations at our Christmas Party.

We thought we would also take the opportunity to share the Christmas thoughts from our 12 awesome colleagues which we have been posting on social media throughout this festive period:
Danielle: What better way to bring together the family at Christmas time than a delicious, homemade dessert? One of my fond memories of Christmas is tucking into my aunt’s homemade banoffee pie at the family gathering. Did you know? The banoffee pie was invented in East Sussex in 1971! So, this festive season, I’d like to share with you a recipe for this iconic British dessert from Mary Berry herself. Guaranteed to delight! Happy baking! 😊
Natalie: On the 3rd day of Hi5 Christmas I’m remembering so many special Christmas memories. I’ve always loved Christmas, not only is it a happy and fun time of year, I celebrate my birthday, my daughter’s birthday and to add to the mix I got married in December a week before the big day so an anniversary to celebrate!!! What’s not to love (heart emoji) This photo was taken on my 1st wedding anniversary celebrating good times. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🎅 ❤
Vicky: I look forward to an extra trip to London at Christmas to focus on the amazing light displays and festive shop windows, a treat my teenagers have started to enjoy too! A lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit and have a relaxing wander around the city.
Claire: December is one of my favourite times of year. Christmas Day is my Birthday, so I spend all December celebrating with family and friends. I love the decorations, lights, festivities, and that you can just eat what you want and worry about it in the New Year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
Matthew: Taking a step away from your desk, away from work is not just important at Christmas but this is a great time to give your brain a re-set to support your mental wellbeing and refresh yourself for the coming year. I'm looking forward to some time to walk and just maybe some snow too!
Ailsa: Christmas to me is all about that great Danish sense of HYGGE. To be warm, to be cosy, to be content. Making precious memories with friends and family, spending time building seasonal Lego sets, candlelight, snuggling up on the couch with my dog, watching my favourite Christmas films for the hundredth time (Home Alone 1&2 and Elf!), silly games and indulging in all of the glorious food and drink that make this time of year so very special.
Louise: I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! It’s the time of year where I catch up with friends after being too busy all year, family gatherings (with lots of cocktails, food and games), and continuing to make special memories with loved ones. Christmas 2023 is particularly special as it’s the first with our new addition to the family, my nephew🥰 I love feeling the warmth and cosiness of nights in, but the bright lights and excitement from festive Christmas markets… Also, why do some the best snacks only come out at Christmas time?!
Michelle: What I love about Christmas is the opportunity to pause, to breathe and to just be able to spend time with friends and family. It’s a time when we can step away from work and enjoy the company of our nearest and dearest without the everyday interruptions. For me I love getting together with our neighbours for the traditional Christmas drinks and the Christmas day dog walks with our 2 golden retrievers – if we have snow (I can dream) then that makes it extra special. Merry Christmas everyone.
Emma: For me, Christmas is all about spending time with my precious girls, family and friends. It’s about the little traditions we’ve created; the tree goes up early (end of November!), we see the Xmas lights come on it our little Georgian market town, watch a Christmas film every night throughout December, drink hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream, buy Quality Street and argue about who’s putting the empty wrappers back in the tub! Party, giggle, drink mulled wine and fizz with friends then dive into a GREAT. BIG. FAT. Christmas dinner and settle down to watch ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ whilst in a food coma!
Jackie: CHRISTMAS …… I love Christmas starts the end of November for me. It is the little things that build up to it that makes it magical. Hot chocolates, Christmas shopping, letter writing to Santa, Christmas cake making, candle making, arts and crafts with Owen, then December comes and chocolates, elf on the shelf, emergency panic shopping, nativity plays, calendar hectic LOVE IT!!! Also being informed by your son that Santa isn’t real.. HELLO…nobody told me!!
Natasha: On the final day of the High 5 Christmas countdown to Christmas, I am celebrating the hard work of all 12 members of our team throughout the year. The team recently took time to celebrate and get all glammed up ahead of the Christmas break 🥂🎄. Christmas to me is about celebrating the past year, getting ready for the next year and enjoying time off spent with friends and family. Its time we can spend with loved ones without interruption from work responsibilities and everyday challenges. And that time is to be cherished. Wishing you all a Happy Christmas break and a special New Year! 🎄🎅🥂
